AMAZON FIRE TV SETUP
STEP 1 — ENABLE DEVELOPER OPTIONS
We have included two instructional videos to guide you through the steps below. You can click on either URL or copy and paste it into your browser:
From the Fire TV home screen:
- Open Settings.
- Select My Fire TV.
- Select About.
- Highlight the name of your Fire TV device.
- Press the OK / Select button seven times on your remote.
- A developer notification should appear.
- Press the Back button.
You should now be able to access Developer Options.
If Developer Options were already enabled, you can continue to the next step.
STEP 2 — ALLOW APP INSTALLATION
Return to:
Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options
Depending on your Fire OS version, you may see:
Apps from Unknown Sources
or:
Install Unknown Apps
If individual apps are listed, enable permission for the app you will use to download Elite Media Hub.
For example:
Downloader → ON
STEP 3 — INSTALL DOWNLOADER
Return to the Fire TV home screen.
- Select Find/Search.
- Search for Downloader.
- Select the Downloader application from AFTVnews.
- Download and install it.
- Open Downloader.
- Allow the permissions it requests when necessary.
- Close the Quick Start Guide.
Downloader is now ready.

STEP 4 — DOWNLOAD ELITE MEDIA HUB
Inside Downloader:
- Select the URL/code entry box.
- Enter:
8729779
- Select Go/Next.
- Allow the Elite Media Hub file to download.
- Select Install when the Android installation screen appears.
- When installation finishes, select Open.
You are now inside Elite Media Hub.
STEP 5 — CHOOSE YOUR APP
Inside Elite Media Hub, choose a compatible player.
You do not need to install every player.
We recommend installing one player first. If you don’t like it, you can try another.
IMPORTANT: Always read the description shown with an app before installing it. Some apps are not compatible with every Elite Media service.
OPTIONAL FIRE TV SETTINGS
These settings are not required to activate Elite Media, but customers who want to adjust their Fire TV privacy and home-screen preferences may do so.
Go to:
Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings
Turn off the following options:
- Manage Sharing from apps
- Device Usage Data
- Collect App Usage Data
- Interest-Based Ads
- Amazon photos
You can also review the following and turn off the options:
Settings →Preferences →
- Data Monitoring
- Still watching
and turn off the following options:
You can also review the following and turn off the options:
Settings →Notifications→
- Do not interrupt
- App notifications – Turn off what you want on this
and turn off the following options:
Settings →Preferences → Featured Content
If desired, disable:
- Video Autoplay
- Audio Autoplay
These options prevent videos and audio from automatically playing on your home screen and also prevent Amazon from monitoring.
Once you have completed these steps, you will have successfully enhanced your privacy settings on your Amazon device. You can now move on to the next steps!
FIRE TV STORAGE SETTING
Some Fire TV models include an automatic app-offloading option.
Go to:
Settings → My Fire TV → About → Storage
If Auto Offload is available and you do not want your device automatically removing rarely used applications, turn this setting off.
I CAN’T FIND DEVELOPER OPTIONS
On Fire TV:
- Open Settings.
- Select My Fire TV.
- Select About.
- Highlight your Fire TV device name.
- Press the OK/Select button seven times.
- Return to My Fire TV.
Developer Options should now appear.
